We encourage families to visit Fordham Avenue Kindergarten by booking a tour.  Tours can be booked here

The tour is conducted by one of our educators. You will see our rooms, facilities, and experience a sense of our community for yourself.  Your child is welcome to join you on the tour.

In May 2021, our programme was assessed against the National Quality Framework and we have received a rating of "Exceeding" in all 7 National Quality Standards - a testament to the commitment and professionalism of our teaching staff.

Fordham Avenue Kindergarten is also a full member of the Early Learning Association of Australia (ELAA) which aims to represent parents, Committees of Management, and children, as well as promote the role of kindergartens.

In November 2015 we were awarded a “Commendation” for the Sustainable Kindergarten of the Year Awards presented by the City of Boroondara.

Management
The kindergarten is managed by a parent committee elected each year. The Committee of Management is responsible for the financial and general management of the kindergarten. Positions on the committee include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parents & Friends (x4), Maintenance, IT Support, Minute Secretary, Newsletter Secretary, Enrolments, Publicity, Grants, Policies, OH&S and General Duties. No particular qualifications are required for any of the positions aside from Treasurer and IT Support Officer; just lots of enthusiasm and ability to attend monthly committee meetings on a Tuesday evening.

Parents
At Fordham Avenue Kindergarten we encourage parent and family involvement in the program. Each term, a roster is available for parents to volunteer to assist with kindergarten sessions throughout the term. Parents often assist with two sessions per term, but involvement depends entirely on each individual family and is optional. At the session, the parent can expect to assist children with activities such as pasting, painting, cooking, reading, supervising outdoor play and cleaning up.

Parents with a special skill or interest are also encouraged to share this with the children at a session, for example playing a musical instrument or speaking a foreign language.
